Reviewed by Sandra Lopez, author of "Esperanza" and "Beyond the Gardens" I truly never want to see this book again. Her grandmother was an actual useless character. It felt like I was just going around in circles, listening to her inner monologue. The fact that nothing happened for literally the entire book until the last 50 pages was so infuriating. It seemed like she was a lot out of touch and it was so frustrating. I also just had a hard time believing that Rosie didn't have any idea how to deal with her financials? She was supposed to be poor and struggling prior to winning the lottery, literally living paycheck to paycheck and she somehow didn't have any grasp on how to handle her finances? Also, Cheeto? Really? You can't honestly expect me to believe that a grown man is going to go by Cheeto? I don't know. Not only was the plot super slow and generally just boring, it was frustrating to read how rude and snotty Rosie was. Oh my gosh, how I did not enjoy this book at all. I promise you I am not a harsh reviewer at all, and it's truly super hard to give me a book that I'll truly hate.
